Valentine’s Day gives you an opportunity to show your loved ones how much you care about them. Whether you’re planning to mark the occasion with a quiet family dinner at home or a gathering for your little one and all of her friends, red will undoubtedly take center stage on Valentine’s Day.
A special day calls for a special outfit, and tutu skirts in cherry shades make an excellent base for a child’s attire for the holiday. Pair the skirt with a pink and red top decorated with hearts or have your child design her own t-shirt or turtleneck to wear proudly.
Depending on your location, you may also want to have your child don heavy tights to keep her warm in the brisk February air.
Such an outfit is versatile. A tutu skirt and complementary top is appropriate attire for a party-going gal or a homebody.
Accessories will help to make the outfit, too. Choose a headband with a bright red flower or a pair of tights featuring roses. A fairy wand is always a nice addition, and butterfly wings or ladybug wings can bring a bit of lightness to the affair.
If you’re hosting a Valentine party, you’ll need to plan for decorations, too. With their red and black color theme, ladybug decorations are a natural fit for a Valentine’s Day fete. Scatter mini-ladybugs throughout the room, and include bunches of red and black balloons for extra emphasis.
Be sure to involve your child in planning for the day, as well. Let her pick the dessert or games, and encourage her to help with decorations. She’ll have a sense for the types of activities that will appeal to her friends, and she’ll enjoy the party even more herself.

If finding a ladybug in your home brings you luck, why not make them a permanent part of a room’s design? Ladybug decorations are versatile and colorful, and they can bring a positive vibe to a variety of spaces.
With their basic red and black color scheme, ladybugs are perfect for the basis of a playroom. Ladybug mobiles may hang from the ceilings, or ladybugs can be used as curtain tiebacks, too. Use red and black stickers to spell your child’s name, and choose red and black storage crates to keep toys from going astray.
Of course, ladybugs can also be paired with similar beautiful creatures in your decorating scheme. Butterfly decor will be complementary, as will dragonfly decorations. Flowers are likely to have a place in the room, too.
Such a playroom can give a jumpstart to your child’s imagination. Encourage your child to create a story about ladybugs. Give your child a chest full of ladybug-themed dress-up clothes, like red or black leotards, glittery red wings and tutu skirts.
Ladybug themes can also be appropriate for other small rooms, such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry or utility rooms. The splash of color they provide can have a major impact in a small space.
Ladybugs also make a great theme for a child’s birthday party. You can decorate with red and black streamers and tablecloths and bake a ladybug cake or cupcakes for the big moment.
Be creative with games like Pin the Spot on the Ladybug, or hide a stuffed ladybug and give the guest who finds it a special prize. Be sure that every guest gets a mini-ladybug to take home, too!

Nurture your child’s love for nature from infancy by making the theme of her first room all about gardens and the creatures that inhabit them.
Begin by painting the walls a light shade of green (or sky blue on the top half and grassy green on the bottom) and decorating them with stickers of flowers, grass or small trees. If you have an artistic streak, you may want to try your hand at painting a mural depicting a serene garden scene.
Once the base is in place, you can add all sorts of embellishments to your indoor “garden”. Why not blend your garden nursery with a butterfly nursery? Place butterfly decor of different sizes, materials and colors throughout the room. A butterfly mobile hanging from the ceiling can create the illusion of the beautiful creatures in their natural stage of flight.
Ladybug decorations are also good additions to a garden-themed baby room, and their bright red hues offer a nice contrast to the predominantly green surroundings. Bumblebees also are often found in gardens, and they’ll blend in with your garden-themed nursery, as well. Stuffed ladybugs, butterflies and bumblebees are other decoration options.
Personalize your child’s room by spelling her name on the wall or a closet door using alphabet stickers decorated with butterflies or flowers. Create a wide door frame with trellis to mark the entry into the garden.
Choose linens and accessories that accentuate the theme and feature flowers, plants or butterflies. You can even include a few leafy, non-toxic plants to complete the look and add a little life to the nursery. Pick a particularly young plant, and you can tend to it and watch it grow right along with your child.
With a garden-themed nursery, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Let it run wild!

Names, motivational quotes and descriptive adjectives can all have their place in a child’s room thanks to alphabet wall stickers. These decorative touches are versatile and functional, and at the same time, they can integrate seamlessly with the rest of a room’s design.
Alphabet stickers can be used in many ways. For example, they may add to the color theme of a room. Red and black alphabet stickers can be used to complement a room with a number of ladybug decorations.
Similarly, the stickers can incorporate design elements from the rest of the room. Alphabet stickers embellished with butterflies are an excellent addition to a room in which butterfly decor is prominent.
Alphabet stickers are useful tools, as well. Children love to have their names emblazoned on their doors or walls. Using alphabet stickers to spell out your child’s name emphasizes that the room is his or her special space.
You can even label different sections of the room with alphabet stickers. Point out the play area, dressing room and reading nook by placing those words on the wall.
Inspire your child by using alphabet stickers to write an uplifting message on your child’s wall. A child who wakes up and sees encouraging words on the wall will carry that motivation throughout the rest of his or her day.
Removable alphabet stickers can be rotated in accordance with changing seasons or holidays. Combine the stickers with appropriate decorations to give the space an updated, seasonal flair.
Alphabet stickers can be used in combination with other stickers, too. Create a mural with stickers of clouds, sunshine, flowers and butterflies, dragonflies or ladybugs, and as a final touch, put your child’s name on the wall in an arc of alphabet stickers.

Dress-up play can offer little girls the opportunity to make a magical transformation into a brand new character. The right outfits, accessories and toys can open up a whole new world for your child at playtime and beyond.
Tutu skirts are particularly versatile pieces of clothing for dress-up days. A girl wearing a tutu skirt can be anything from a proper princess to a graceful ballerina to a fairy queen with a collection of mini butterflies as her subjects.
While wearing a tutu skirt, your daughter can create any narrative that comes to mind. Accessories like tiaras, butterfly wings and fairy wands can make valuable additions to the dress-up wardrobe, too. Provide a variety of accessories so that your daughter has a number of options for her make-believe world.
Make sure that your child has access to toys like tea sets, dolls, stuffed animals and storybooks, which can be used with real playmates or imaginary friends.
Even the setting for your child’s play can have an effect on its quality. Incorporate butterfly decorations, bumblebee decorations and ladybug decorations—just to name a few—into your daughter’s playroom to encourage her to include such creatures in her imaginary world. A hanging sun decoration will also bring a touch of brightness to the room.
Of course, a child must be comfortable to truly become lost in her play, and tutu skirts accomplish that goal, as well. Tutu skirts allow freedom in movement so that your child can focus on the freedom of her imagination.
It’s important to encourage children to follow wherever their imagination leads. Playtime presents an excellent opportunity for parents to work toward that goal, and the right clothing items and accessories can help in the effort.

If you’re looking for a unique decorative theme that can be incorporated in rooms throughout your house, think red and black: ladybugs.
Of course, ladybug decorations are appealing embellishments for a playroom, child’s bedroom or nursery. The bright red and black will appeal to an infant, and you can hang a ladybug mobile from the ceiling to capture your baby’s attention. For older children, ladybugs can be part of a broader insect garden theme in a playroom or bedroom. Pair ladybug wall stickers with garlands of butterfly wings and add in a bumblebee or two for a representation of a variety of insects.
Ladybug decorations aren’t just kids’ play, though. You can build a kitchen or bathroom around these colorful creatures, too. Select tea towels and potholders with embroidered ladybugs, and add red and black utensils and casual plates and glasses to complete the look. Include butterfly decorations, such as mini nylon butterflies or butterfly magnets, to mix things up a bit, too.
Bathrooms can be beautified with ladybugs, too. Choose a soap dish and toothbrush holder painted with ladybugs or choose plain white accessories and do a DIY decorating job. Hang a ladybug shower curtain, and you can use red and black hand towels, wash cloths and bath towels to coordinate with your powder room or bathroom ladybug theme.
Don’t forget that ladybugs are considered to be symbols of good fortune, so you may be bringing a little luck into your home if you work these darling red and black creatures into your design. You can tuck a small ladybug decoration away in a hidden corner in each room of the house to enhance your blessings.

Homeowners often stick to the basics, like furniture and plants, when designing their sunrooms, but those spaces have much more potential. If you’re looking for a way to bring a unique theme to your sunroom, transform it into an indoor garden complete with cute ladybug and butterfly decorations.
Sunrooms often are home to a family’s plant collection, which provides an excellent foundation for a garden design. After all, real-life butterflies, ladybugs and all sorts of other insects would be attracted to flowers in nature. Why wouldn’t their decorative counterparts be drawn to the plants in your sunroom, too?
A large nylon butterfly or butterfly mobile suspended from the ceiling can add a dramatic focal point, while mini butterflies scattered throughout the room’s plants can mimic a natural scene. You may also want to weave a butterfly garland through a large potted plant. When bringing butterflies into your sunroom, select decorations in various colors to make the room more visually interesting. Consider embellishments such as ribbons, crystals or sequins to introduce a variety of textures.
With their bright red background, ladybug decorations offer a splash of color to break up some greenery or draw attention to an otherwise ordinary piece of furniture. Choose various sizes, large and small, to avoid monotony in your design. Dragonfly decorations are fun additions, too, and they will have a natural location near your sunroom’s water feature, if it has one. Of course no garden would be complete without bumblebees, and mini bumblebee decorations can be used to “pollinate” the sunroom’s flowers.
Can’t decide on which bug to choose? Hang a mobile that includes all of the insects listed above, along with a nylon daisy for good measure.
If you’re fortunate enough to have a sunroom in your home, you know that it’s a great space for enjoying some peace and quiet, and the bugs will keep you company without making a sound. The sunroom is a great spot for entertaining, too. By creating a garden scene in your sunroom, you’ll give your guests a reason to remember gatherings at your home.

Traditional flower arrangements can become even more beautiful with a few additions. If you’re looking to add a unique twist to a floral centerpiece for an event or even an arrangement that spruces up your home decor, bug and butterfly decorations can do the trick.
Bugs of all kinds naturally gravitate to flowers, so butterfly decor and ladybug decorations make ideal accessories for floral arrangements. With a wide variety of decorative options, Bugs-n-Blooms offers a number of alternatives that add a splash to arrangements ranging from single flowers to bouquets to elaborate centerpieces.
Attach a mini-ladybug or two to a lone flower’s vase for a simple, elegant decoration. A large potted plant gets a dramatic boost from an accompanying dragonfly. Mini-butterflies can be scattered throughout a bouquet or attached to the ribbon that holds that bouquet together. A larger floral centerpiece can be enhanced with a variety of insect friends.
When placing the decorations in the arrangement, consider what locations will give the arrangement a natural appearance. Put mini-bumblebees near the center of a flower where their real-life counterparts would be found, for example. Also be sure to choose decorations in colors that are complementary to the flowers’ hues.
If you’re pleased with the results in an indoor setting, you can accessorize outdoor floral displays in a similar way. Create your own butterfly garden by sprinkling mini-butterflies throughout the space or include a few carefully placed larger nylon butterflies that are embellished with gems or glitter. Add a few bees and ladybugs for a diverse selection of decorations.

If you’re a teacher, you know that the decor in your classroom sets the tone for the learning activities that take place there. Incorporating bugs and flowers into that theme creates a visually stimulating environment that supports education. Plus, a garden haven can show your students that bugs can be beautiful.
Begin by lining the walls with large floral stickers, or paint a variety of flowers to create the garden’s base. Throw in some blades of grass with bright green paint, as well. Add a sun sticker near the ceiling, and include some accompanying clouds to complete the background.
Next, add the insects, starting with nylon butterfly decorations on the walls and include some butterfly garland or mobiles strung from the ceiling, too. The fanciful creatures will inspire your students to use their imaginations, and they can add a variety of textures and embellishments, like glitter and gems, to your room. You can extend this motif by posting the alphabet using butterfly-decorated letter stickers.
Ladybug decorations are also a nice addition. Scatter mini-ladybugs around the room, or place a few smiling ladybugs in prominent locations. Their red-and-black scheme adds a splash of bright color to your decor, and you can tell your students that the ladybugs will bring them luck!
Of course, bees will create a buzz among your students, as well. The notoriously hard-working insects will be role models for your students who will want to do the same. Bees can be added to the classroom through stickers hovering near the flowers or by hanging glitter bumblebees along the walls. Dragonflies are another interesting option, and the children will find their unique shape intriguing. Consider nylon dragonfly decorations that feature sparkles, layers or a rainbow-color scheme.
The bug theme opens the door for a slew of lesson plans on a variety of subjects. Use the bee decorations and flower stickers to demonstrate how pollination works for a great science activity. Build students’ English skills by having them write a story about a friendship between the ladybug and the butterfly. The possibilities are endless!

When picking the theme for your child’s next birthday party, go with something as cute as a bug—a ladybug! Red and black colors can serve as the background for a host of ladybug decorations, such as mobiles, garlands and hanging decorations. Ladybug decorations can be used for both indoor and outdoor parties. You may also consider adding a few butterfly or dragonfly decorations into the mix to create an entire insect garden setting!
You can pers onalize the party by including a banner or sign that features your child’s name decorated in the ladybug motif. Let your guests take a piece of the party home with favors like ladybug stickers or ladybug fairy wands or even small stuffed ladybugs.
The ladybug theme can be extended to the food, too. Many bakeries offer ladybug cakes or cupcakes, or you could try your hand at making your own. Mixtures of red and black licorice or other candies will be a nice touch, too.
Ladybug decorations and favors can pave the way for bug-themed activities and games as well. Put a new spin on an old classic by turning Pin the Tail on the Donkey into Pin the Antenna on the Ladybug, for example.
Don’t forget that ladybugs are often considered to be a sign of luck. A party based on the red-and-black creatures can spread the good fortune around to your child and her friends.
