If finding a ladybug in your home brings you luck, why not make them a permanent part of a room’s design? Ladybug decorations are versatile and colorful, and they can bring a positive vibe to a variety of spaces.
With their basic red and black color scheme, ladybugs are perfect for the basis of a playroom. Ladybug mobiles may hang from the ceilings, or ladybugs can be used as curtain tiebacks, too. Use red and black stickers to spell your child’s name, and choose red and black storage crates to keep toys from going astray.
Of course, ladybugs can also be paired with similar beautiful creatures in your decorating scheme. Butterfly decor will be complementary, as will dragonfly decorations. Flowers are likely to have a place in the room, too.
Such a playroom can give a jumpstart to your child’s imagination. Encourage your child to create a story about ladybugs. Give your child a chest full of ladybug-themed dress-up clothes, like red or black leotards, glittery red wings and tutu skirts.
Ladybug themes can also be appropriate for other small rooms, such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry or utility rooms. The splash of color they provide can have a major impact in a small space.
Ladybugs also make a great theme for a child’s birthday party. You can decorate with red and black streamers and tablecloths and bake a ladybug cake or cupcakes for the big moment.
Be creative with games like Pin the Spot on the Ladybug, or hide a stuffed ladybug and give the guest who finds it a special prize. Be sure that every guest gets a mini-ladybug to take home, too!

Evoking renewal and elegance, butterflies appeal to the eye. When it comes to including butterfly decor in your home, the possibilities are practically endless.
Butterfly decorations can be used to create a setting in a specific room, such as a child’s playroom or a sun porch. The butterflies can be the central focus, or they may accentuate a different theme, such as “spring fling” or “fanciful garden.”
Just as butterfly wings can enhance various motifs, you can use them in different ways, too. Hang a nylon butterfly from the ceiling or scatter mini-butterflies among coffee tables and end tables in a living room. You can paint butterflies on the walls or on pieces of furniture, as well. In a child’s bedroom, choose sheets and comforters decorated with butterflies.
Butterfly decorations also blend in well with other embellishments. They can be paired with ladybug decorations, for example. Bumblebees and dragonflies also serve as good accompaniments for butterflies. You can also include items that feature flowers or other aspects of nature along with your butterflies.
Beyond having butterflies as a permanent fixture in your home’s design scheme, you can also use them to decorate for a special event. With their beauty and grace, butterflies offer an excellent theme for a little girl’s birthday party or a baby or bridal shower.
If you’re preparing for a shower, hang butterfly garlands along tables, and include small butterflies in floral centerpieces found on the tables. For a child’s fete, bring butterflies into the games. Choose a butterfly-shaped piñata and decorate cupcakes with butterfly picks or butterfly icing designs.
If you have a love for butterflies, don’t hesitate to let that come through in the way you decorate your home or host an event. Be creative and have fun with it!

Nurture your child’s love for nature from infancy by making the theme of her first room all about gardens and the creatures that inhabit them.
Begin by painting the walls a light shade of green (or sky blue on the top half and grassy green on the bottom) and decorating them with stickers of flowers, grass or small trees. If you have an artistic streak, you may want to try your hand at painting a mural depicting a serene garden scene.
Once the base is in place, you can add all sorts of embellishments to your indoor “garden”. Why not blend your garden nursery with a butterfly nursery? Place butterfly decor of different sizes, materials and colors throughout the room. A butterfly mobile hanging from the ceiling can create the illusion of the beautiful creatures in their natural stage of flight.
Ladybug decorations are also good additions to a garden-themed baby room, and their bright red hues offer a nice contrast to the predominantly green surroundings. Bumblebees also are often found in gardens, and they’ll blend in with your garden-themed nursery, as well. Stuffed ladybugs, butterflies and bumblebees are other decoration options.
Personalize your child’s room by spelling her name on the wall or a closet door using alphabet stickers decorated with butterflies or flowers. Create a wide door frame with trellis to mark the entry into the garden.
Choose linens and accessories that accentuate the theme and feature flowers, plants or butterflies. You can even include a few leafy, non-toxic plants to complete the look and add a little life to the nursery. Pick a particularly young plant, and you can tend to it and watch it grow right along with your child.
With a garden-themed nursery, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Let it run wild!

Names, motivational quotes and descriptive adjectives can all have their place in a child’s room thanks to alphabet wall stickers. These decorative touches are versatile and functional, and at the same time, they can integrate seamlessly with the rest of a room’s design.
Alphabet stickers can be used in many ways. For example, they may add to the color theme of a room. Red and black alphabet stickers can be used to complement a room with a number of ladybug decorations.
Similarly, the stickers can incorporate design elements from the rest of the room. Alphabet stickers embellished with butterflies are an excellent addition to a room in which butterfly decor is prominent.
Alphabet stickers are useful tools, as well. Children love to have their names emblazoned on their doors or walls. Using alphabet stickers to spell out your child’s name emphasizes that the room is his or her special space.
You can even label different sections of the room with alphabet stickers. Point out the play area, dressing room and reading nook by placing those words on the wall.
Inspire your child by using alphabet stickers to write an uplifting message on your child’s wall. A child who wakes up and sees encouraging words on the wall will carry that motivation throughout the rest of his or her day.
Removable alphabet stickers can be rotated in accordance with changing seasons or holidays. Combine the stickers with appropriate decorations to give the space an updated, seasonal flair.
Alphabet stickers can be used in combination with other stickers, too. Create a mural with stickers of clouds, sunshine, flowers and butterflies, dragonflies or ladybugs, and as a final touch, put your child’s name on the wall in an arc of alphabet stickers.

Flowers bring the beauty of nature indoors, and adding butterfly wings to a bouquet or potted plant can enhance the effect. After all, butterflies are often attracted to bright, colorful petals, just like the rest of us. Virtually any variety of flower—from daisies to hyacinths to roses—will look better when a few butterfly decorations are added to the bunch.
Butterfly floral arrangements are versatile. They can make great baby shower decorations or add a touch of elegance to a bridal bouquet or altar decorations. Flowers or plants with butterflies can also serve as a hostess gift for a summer soiree or the centerpieces for a couple’s big anniversary dinner.
You can add butterflies to a floral arrangement in any number of ways. Mini-butterflies can sit on a number of petals to re-create a lifelike environment. A larger nylon butterfly can serve as the focal point of a floral grouping, surrounded by a mixture of blooms. Even mid-sized butterflies can be incorporated into plants and arrangements, lining the rim of the vase or basket that holds the flowers. To extend the theme, you can choose a container with butterflies etched into the glass or painted onto ceramic.
Butterfly decorations are available in a variety of colors to contrast and complement flower petals’ natural hues. Enhancements like glitter, gems and crystals can also introduce a different texture to the arrangement.
Butterfly embellishments aren’t limited to indoor flowers, either. Larger decorative versions of the beautiful winged creatures make a great addition to an outdoor garden as well. Nylon butterflies may even serve as decoys to attract their real-life counterparts to your floral patch.

Mother’s Day is the only day of the year that you get to celebrate your maternal role, so you should take steps to be sure that it’s a special occasion. Certainly a Mother’s Day brunch or breakfast in bed served by the kids are nice ways to commemorate the day, but one of the following activities can make this year’s Mother’s Day truly unique. Plus, engaging in such playful endeavors will help you channel your inner child, too!
Have your daughter serve as the host of a fairy princess tea. She can don a tiara, butterfly wings and tutu skirt and carry a butterfly wand that lets her give a touch of magic to the tea. She’ll be delighted to serve you real iced tea from her pint-sized tea set, along with delectable cookies, and she can regale you with the latest tales and happenings from her princess escapades.
Create a unique skit about all of the creatures in the garden. Decorate the walls of your little one’s playroom with oversized flower stickers, ladybug decorations and bumblebee decorations. Have your daughter take the lead on developing the dialogue between the bugs and butterflies and birds, and you can do the writing. Dig into the dress-up closet for costumes and props. When the skit is ready for prime time, put on a performance for the rest of the family.
Enjoy an afternoon of painting butterflies or a craft that builds on the butterfly them. You can use a nylon butterfly as a model for your art or use it as the base of a craft, adding on embellishments like stickers, glitter or scattering other butterfly decor around the room can give you further inspiration.
One of a mother’s most important duties is encouraging her children to expand their horizons and then follow wherever their imaginations lead them. There’s no better time to take on that role than Mother’s Day, and these inventive activities will help you do so.

Choosing a baby’s nursery theme is an important endeavor. Your baby will be spending a lot of time in the nursery, especially during early infancy, so it’s important to pick a design that is appealing and inviting.
A butterfly nursery is an excellent option. You can begin with bedding and blankets decorated with butterflies, then add butterfly decor throughout the room to enhance the effect.
When designing a butterfly nursery, you have a wide variety of decoration options. You may choose to include accessories like lamps, picture frames, curtains and tiebacks that are adorned with butterflies.
Large nylon butterfly wings serve as attractive wall hangings, and they come with a variety of trimmings, such as glitter, gems, and ribbons. Multiple colors are available as well, offering an assortment of visual attractions for the baby. A butterfly mobile hanging over the crib is sure to catch your baby’s attention, too.
If you’ve already chosen a name for your baby, you can put that on the wall using alphabet stickers that have butterfly accents. You can also use floral stickers around the baseboard to give the butterflies a garden, or hire an artist to paint a butterfly-themed mural along one of the nursery’s walls.
If possible, select your motif well in advance for planning purposes. Give yourself an opportunity to do a thorough search for butterfly-themed items. Deciding on a theme before your baby shower will allow your guests to keep an eye out for butterfly-related gifts, as well.
Ideally, the nursery will offer much more to your baby than a mere place to sleep. Your baby’s first room should be a place that promotes exploration and excitement. That is why butterflies are such a good choice for a theme. Butterflies not only appeal to the eye, they can spark your baby’s imagination, too. Consider an early environment full of the fanciful creatures for your baby’s first room.

Many little girls have a favorite dress-up outfit, a first choice that they go back to time and time again when it’s time to visit a make-believe world. Unfortunately, though, as girls grow, they have to give up those beloved clothes when they no longer fit. If you want to give your daughter an ensemble that she can wear for years, choose to pair butterfly wings with adjustable tutu skirts.
For a toddler, butterfly wings can become her very first costume and an introduction to the notion of make-believe. The wings even may be oversized for a smaller two- or three-year-old, making them even more charming. A preschool-aged girl, on the other hand, might create a fantasy persona—a butterfly fairy—when wearing her wings and tutu.
As your daughter enters her elementary school years, the butterfly wings can accompany her for special occasions. She can bring out the butterfly when it’s time for a costume party or school play.
Of course, butterfly wings and tutu skirts are appropriate attire for dress up at any age. Your daughter might join with other friends her age for regular butterfly-themed playdate gatherings.
You can even take this butterfly dress-up motif a step further, by creating a butterfly lair in a small room in your home. Hang butterfly decor on the walls, hang butterfly curtains, and place a nylon butterfly here and there on shelves and tables A room centered on butterflies will welcome your daughter for years to come.
The butterfly wings should continue to fit your child at least until she turns nine or 10 years old, and even longer if she’s a smaller girl. However, the memories will last for decades beyond that. Eventually, your child’s butterfly wings will become a beloved keepsake that she’ll treasure into adulthood. She may no longer wear them after she’s grown, but she can bring them out of the cedar chest from time to time to reminisce about her childhood.
