Plan The Perfect Baby Shower - Butterfly Diaper Cakes
Oh, so pretty! Simple but elegant, this pink butterfly diaper cake for girls is absolutely gorgeous! The diapers are not rolled, but fanned around a center core and wrapped in a dark pink ribbon edged in white.
A baby shower done all in pink and white would be amiss not to have this diaper cake as a baby shower centerpiece. I think it’s the most graceful cake I’ve seen.
It would look wonderful on a pink table cloth, with pink and white balloons and Mylar baby balloons. Add some bunches of white flowers, and a white and pink cake and you’re in business.
This butterfly diaper cake is made with 40 disposable diapers in two layers and topped with white knit baby booties with a bejeweled butterfly applique.
There’s also a baby t-shirt with the same butterfly applique which is the decoration you see for the second tier.
Pink confetti paper looks like sugar frosting on all of the layers and a simple, white bow graces the middle of the bottom tier.
The diaper cake comes wrapped in tulle. Frankly, it’s just too pretty to pull apart, don’t you think?

Select the Baby Bedding That is Right for you
Oftentimes new parents choose baby bedding based upon its looks instead of its functionality. Unfortunately, this is not the way in which baby bedding should be chosen. Instead, a baby’s safety and comfort should be thought of first and foremost. When you begin thinking in this way, you will find that there are some things that you really should not do. This includes:
1. Do not ignore your baby’s safety. Their crib must conform to the government’s safety standards. Even so, you should still look for any parts that may be dangerous for your baby. This includes sharp corners, flimsy wheels, or slats that are more than 2.5 inches apart. So, while you may want to purchase a used crib, you need to make sure that it conforms to these rules and that it is not listed as one of the cribs that has been recalled.
2. You should never use any bedding material that your baby may be allergic to. Instead, you should use wool, cotton or another type of baby-friendly synthetic material.
3. Make sure that the baby bedding you use is not soft. Instead, your baby’s bedding should be firm. This is really important because soft baby bedding is one of the leading causes of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
4. Do not stuff your baby’s crib full of cushions or too many other items. In fact, the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) will tell you that pillows, cushions and other soft items should not be left in your crib while your baby is sleeping.
5. Do not use bumper pads. Again, the AAP recommends that these also increase your baby’s risk of SIDS. If you are still stuck on the idea of using bumper pads, then make sure that they are not soft or bulky, that they are properly attached to the crib and that you cut off any extra string.
6. You need to be sure that you never use rubber sheets. These use to be quite popular as they keep things dry but you should know that they will also irritate your baby’s skin. So, today flannel-lined mattress pads are being used instead since they have been specifically designed to keep things dry without irritating your baby’s skin.
Now that you are more knowledgeable about making sure not to do certain things, you should also feel as though you are more knowledgeable about those things that you should do and those things that you should purchase for inside of your baby’s bed. If you keep these things in mind whenever you do your shopping, your baby will be safe and feel secure.

Tips For Finding Discount Girls Baby Shower Decorations
Shower your mom to be with these decorations!
When you’re throwing a baby shower, finding discount baby shower supplies can be difficult if you don’t use a little foresight and planning. It’s especially easy to go overboard when buying or making baby girl shower decorations as everything is so adorable. That makes it hard to choose and if you’re not careful it’s easy to have your baby shower looking like a frilly pink nightmare.
Baby shower party supplies can be done in a variety of ways. Traditionally, baby girl shower decorations are lacy and flowery. If themed, most people lean towards the traditional ducks, butterflies or cartoon characters such as the ever popular Disney characters.
First and foremost you need balloons and streamers. They are placed outside the house as a guide for guests to help direct them to the correct residence and of course inside because what would any party be without balloons and dangling streamers? Generally, you want the baby shower party supplies to stick with a theme.
One cute touch for baby girl shower decorations is the sock rosebush. Using pink and/or white baby socks roll them up tightly; they will resemble small roses; then using wire, attach them to “stems” of wooden skewers and stick them down into pots you’ve spray painted pink and filled with green florists Styrofoam.
Discount baby shower supplies can also be found online. With a little online legwork, you should have no problem finding your baby shower party supplies. Baby girl shower decorations bring out the softie in all of us so have fun with it but make sure not to overdo the fluff.

Baby Girls Nursery Decorations - Baby Shower Decorations
Baby showers are joyous occasions to celebrate the birth of a baby. Baby showers not only add excitement but are also a great way to get together for blessing the new parents-to-be as well as the baby (if the baby is already born). They are a fun way to greet apprehensive moms-to-be. Lots of balloons, streamers, banners and colorful decorations make the party area more lively. Baby showers can be more fun if they are well decorated according to a theme or a particular idea.
Baby shower decorations can be based on themes like animals, nursery rhymes, fairy tale characters, or family themes. The plates, glasses, and other accessories can be based on these themes. Even the guests can dress up to suit the theme of the party. The gifts and favors for the guests as well as the games can also be designed to suit the theme of the party.
Some common decorations for baby shower are beanie babies or stuffed animals as center pieces on tables, candles shaped as babies or baby accessories, pacifiers as napkin holders, potted plants wrapped in colorful diapers, small baby-shaped cakes as center pieces, candy dishes made of jellybellys, baby booties filled with candies placed all over the room, colorfully decorated diapers on clothes line, fun shaped baby tubs as punch bowls, fun shaped lamps which the mom can take for the baby’s room, confetti that says “It’s a boy!” or “It’s a girl!”, chocolate lollipops in the shapes of umbrellas as table decoration, the baby’s crib or stroller decorated to fill in the gifts, pins for all the guests and a special one of the mom-to-be, cloth diapers as place mats, baby bottles as drinking glasses, carriage made of water melon chunks as table decorations, or baby bottles as vases. The idea is to be as creative as possible to make the occasion very memorable and a lot of fun.
There are an endless number of themes to consider when decorating for a baby shower. The only limitation is the imagination of the person doing the decorating.

Decorating Tips To Make Your Life Easier
Decorating Tips to Make Your Life Easier
Well, you've established a budget and chosen a theme for your nursery, now it's time to go out and get all this stuff! Before you do, there are some things you should keep in mind.
First, if you are going to buy wallpaper, look for one that is scrubbable vinyl. If it is scrubbable, it will be easier to clean.
If you have chosen to paint, then buy colors that have a matte or satin finish. This goes for furniture, too. The shinier it is, the more likely dirt will show up sooner. Also, really dark or really light colors are also likely to make dirt more visible. So, if you don't want to spend all your time cleaning the nursery, look for something in the mid-color range.
If you have decided to have carpets in the baby's room, then consider a textured carpet, not to mention a stain-resistant one. A textured carpet will help disguise dirt. A stain-resistant carpet will just make your life a bit easier when your baby spills his or her juice or spits up. You might also want to consider a hardwood floor, since it is much easier to clean.
Make sure any linen you buy for your baby's bed is machine washable. You will be doing a lot of laundry as it is. You don't need to make your job harder by adding items that need special care. A hand-crocheted quilt may be beautiful, but it will also require a hand washing, which means it will never get washed.
You might also want to install a dimmer on the light switch in the nursery. This will allow you to control the amount of light that comes on during those midnight feedings. A bright light might make your little one think it's time to be up and about. A softer light will help them get back to sleep quicker.

How to Decorate a Butterfly Theme Nursery
Colorful Butterfly Nursery Decor for a Baby Girl's BedroomBrilliant butterfly nursery decor is a trendy choice for a baby girl’s bedroom motif. Their delicate wings and vibrant colors fill a baby’s bedroom with the happiness of springtime’s growth and new life.
Walls for the Butterfly Theme NurseryWallpaper options abound depicting pink, purple, yellow, and blue butterflies set against green leaves and colorful flowers, but decorators might also opt for the more affordable coat of paint. The theme works equally well in soft shades of pastel and bold jewel tones. With this in mind, parents may want to choose bedding and accent pieces to help select their foundation color.
Once the walls are covered, parents can add a butterfly theme wallpaper border or try their hand at stencils. Some may want to attempt a mural depicting a beautiful butterfly garden. Peel and stick wall decals or wallpaper murals are an equally attractive option.

Bugs-n-Blooms Butterfly Hanging Decorations Review
A wonderful review about Bugs-n-Blooms that was written by Tammi, Canada .....
As a Mom of girls, I have always enjoyed decorating their room. Stemming from my own childhood wishes {I still want that canopy bed!}, I can re-live the world of fairies and fairy tales through my kids. A few times I wondered if I should start keeping their decor simple and modern, but frilly and pretty has been too much fun. After all, it's the magic of being a young girl!
Bugs-n-Blooms is an online shop that caters to the little girl in your life, with versatile room decor and more. My girls received an assortment of items from Bugs-n-Blooms, all of them inspired by make-believe and imagination.
First, I must say that these items are made to last with high-quality materials with precise and fine detail. In fact, all of the items are designed by them, and are copyrighted. The bugs and flowers I received are all made with strong nylon, in vibrant colors. There are no loose strings, stray threads, nor imperfections. The lovely details that make them beautiful come in sequins, crystals, jewels, beads, ribbons, and glitter. And, if you think that there is 'just a butterfly' for instance, you are mistaken. There is endless choice in colors, sizes, layers, embellishments, and tones. For this reason, I like Bugs-n-Blooms as you can customize room decor to suit your exact liking.
Bugs-n-Blooms also has fabulous Curtain Tiebacks, and we received a yellow flower and a red ladybug. They are very colorful and fun, and certainly put some life into the kids' drab curtains. Glitter and ribbons adorn the bugs, and the bendable wire hangers allow for use with any type of curtain.
One of my favorite items is the Pink Hanging Butterfly Mobile. Each butterfly is embellished so that is dances in the sunlight. The wings are layered to add dimension and movement. Thick and strong fishing line is used to ensure that it lasts {and so it doesn't tangle}. This mobile hangs in the twins rooms, and every time they see it they 'ohhh' & "ahh', giggle & laugh. If I blow in the air and make the butterflies dance, they try to blow as well, swaying with them.
The girls also got a mix of mini bugs and mini flowers to adorn their walls or hang from the ceiling. I have one over each crib, which is nice to keep them entertained while I get breakfast ready. Plus, I had to take out their crib mobiles long ago, so this is a nice {and safe} alternative for when babies are older. I also got little mini nylon bugs, which I have added to their lamp shade and onto their bookshelf. This is nice, as it completes their room and the feel of the space.
It goes to show that the little touches make a room, and the girls sure do love their new accessories. I think Bugs-n-Blooms would also appeal to themed showers, parties and weddings! Take a look at their decorating ideas.

Creative Nursery Accents - Mobile Decorations
Baby room decor is more than just cribs and rocking chairs. Little accents that might not cost a lot can really add to the room's overall appearance. Have you consider replacing the existing light switch cover for something a bit more amusing? A dresser is also a big item that can easily be made over with very little effort. You can change the knobs to transform it from plain and a bit dull to quirky and fun. If you've decided to keep the color on the wall neutral, consider spicing it up a bit with some wall pictures and hangings. Some may even double as a light and any furniture that can serve two purposes is always a great deal. (Keep that in mind when you look for changing tables. Some can be used later on as a dresser.) Growth charts are also a great feature in a child's room. Plus, you can buy them in a variety of styles, such as butterfly, giraffes, seahorses, dinosaurs, flowers and cars. If you've decided on a themed room, it will be easy to find one that matches. A growth chart is also something that can stay in the room for years to come. Lamps with fun bases can also help to liven up a room. Not only can you easily find something to match any theme you may have chosen, but you can also keep it in the room for many years to come. If you've decided to have hardwood floors, you may still decide you'd like a rug to dress the room up a bit. Unlike carpeting, rugs tend to be easier to clean - some smaller ones can even go in the washing machine. Even if you have carpeting in the room already, a rug might still help to bring some pop into the room. One popular feature in a lot of newborn baby room is a mobile. These can be an excellent way of soothing and stimulating your baby. Some come equipped with just the basics while others have lights and play classical music. However, regardless of what kind of mobile you get, remember to remove it from your child's crib when they are able to pull themselves up. Decorating a baby's nursery can be a lot of fun, but you don't need to run out and buy everything at once. Your newborn won't need a bookshelf right away. One of the best ways to keep the room looking nice without breaking the bank is to simply keep adding to it over time. This will help to keep the room looking fresh and allow it to grow with your child.

Safety Tips For Decorating A Childs Room
You may not be able to check off everything on your child's (or your own!) wish list, but there are a few key needs for each age-group that you should focus on. Safety is an important issue to consider when decorating your child’s room. Therefore you should examine furniture, toys, paints, and fabrics before using them to decorate. Even the placement of your child’s bed in relation to the doorway is a decision in which safety comes into play.
Babies:
Babies' needs are crucial but simple: a safe nest to sleep in, a safe place to have diapers changed, and a comfortable spot for you to sit while feeding, cuddling, and rocking him or her. In fact, a comfy rocking or gliding chair is as important as a bed and changing table. Scientific research has shown that babies actually need a lot of cuddling in order to thrive, physically as well as mentally. If you are a new parent, you'll probably be tired and stressed, so make it as easy as possible to spend cheek-to-cheek time with your baby. You'll both be healthier! A changing table will get a lot of use, so be sure to get a good one. You can make a changing table out of a waist-high chest of drawers, but be sure you add a top with a low guardrail as well as a waterproof pad. A chest may be more versatile later, but it generally is not as safe and, therefore, not recommended. In addition, diapers and clothes will be easier to reach if you opt for a changing table with open shelves below. Choose a unit with a safety strap to go across baby's middle, or make sure you can get at things you need with one hand while keeping the other on your little wiggly worm at all times. When it's time to decorate walls, remember that, until they're between six and nine months old, babies can't see subtle colors and details. Black-and-white and other strongly contrasting colors work better as do simple patterns. A proven favorite is two dots and a curve within a circle that suggests human eyes and smiling mouth. If you don't care for vivid color schemes, choose a pastel you'd like to use longer term and pair it with a dark or bright accent hue you can change when your child gets a bit older. Another option is simply to stick with more restful pastel hues throughout the room and provide visual stimulation with age-appropriate toys. Although newborn babies' sight may be lacking, their hearing and sense of touch are almost fully developed at birth. Indulge them with safe toys in a variety of textures and soft melodic sounds. Crib toys and mobiles that move or play music will appeal to most babies as well as add attractive color and pattern to the room. Just make sure that any hanging toys your baby can reach are safe and that they do not have small detachable parts.
Toddlers:
Babies who are old enough to crawl, let alone toddle, are at their most challenging in terms of safety. At this stage they can perceive colors better than infants, but they still lack the ability to understand, say, a storybook scene on a wall.
Keep decorating ideas simple for awhile yet, and concentrate on making sure every square inch is clean and safe. For example, no hanging tablecloths, no exposed electrical outlets, no breakable or heavy items on tables and shelves, and no sharp corners on any furniture. Tots making the transition from crawling to toddling will use any available vertical item to pull themselves up, so choose furniture pieces that are sturdy and stable. For the inevitable tumbles, make sure floors are clean and resilient or softly covered with carpeting or rugs. If you don't have wall-to-wall carpeting, use slip-proof pads under every rug. Vinyl resilient tiles and wood flooring are more forgiving than ceramic tile or stone, but nonslip rugs can make a real difference on any floor. Depending on how active or how tall your child is, you may want to make the transition to a low youth bed now. If there's even a chance your child can climb out of the crib, it's time to move on. Decorating A Room For Two Kids
Designing a child's room is difficult enough when there's only one imaginative inhabitant. But when children must share their most private space in the home, the chance there will be conflict — along with cluttered chaos — increases. The solution? Create personal spaces in the shared room. While parents dealing with design drama between two night-and-day personalities may think one space will never make both kids happy, the truth is that getting to that shared utopia is simpler than you think.
Designer Mary Wadsworth, of Blooming Ideas, LLC, says the interview process is essential for parents to begin to understand what will work in the shared space. And if a child isn't forthcoming about what he or she would prefer, Wadsworth says by asking fun questions, parents can get a better idea of what their child will like. "I always like to ask what a child's favorite ice cream is," Wadsworth says. "Often, children's favorite ice cream flavor is also their favorite color." Newborn Photography Tips
Newborn photography usually brings the words fragile, family memories, and innocence to mind. Since newborns do not move much in their first few months, we must consider a these 3 things:
1. Pose Them! Newborns do not pose, they somewhat just sleep most of the time. So you need to do most of the posing for them. You can tell the difference between the image above and this next image. Notice how they are both bird’s eye view portraits, however, the poses do make a difference in the feel of the images. 2. Keep on shooting! This works best if time is an issue and if parents do not mind that you continue shooting. Newborns tend to have their own timetable and needs. During this photo shoot, the newborn wanted to feed and in this case I threw a black sheet over mom and baby and with the help of a pillow and mom’s sister we managed to snap a few pics of mom and baby peeking out of the blanket. I am sure this worked out mainly because I am a mom myself, but if the parents and baby need their time - GIVE IT TO THEM! 3. Be creative! We need to be creative and plan ahead in case nature calls! Have fun props that we can use to hide diapers. Also try getting back-up disposable changing pads ready for the newborns in case certain fluids come out while they are being changed from one prop to another. Labels: Newborn Tips
