Ladybug Decorations: Not Just For Little Girls
When you think about little boys playing outdoors on a spring day--picking up bugs and trying to catch butterflies -- it is a moment of precious childhood that you never forget. Consider bringing the outdoors in by decorating your son's room with bumblebees, butterflies, and ladybug decorations so your little one can let his imagination soar.
Mini ladybug decorations are adorable little creatures, covered in nylon with a wire frame, that are soft and bendable. You can put all the mini bugs on the wall or scatter them throughout the room. They can be put on a doorknob with a loop or dangled from the ceiling with a piece of fishing line. They can be mixed and matched with other little bugs to convert a little boy's room into an (indoor) outdoor wonderland.
Hanging ladybug room decorations are larger than the mini bugs, but they are also soft and bendable with hand-painted black dots and glitter on the wings for a special touch. Your little one will welcome the smiling ladybugs into his collection. Put them on the wall or hang them from the ceiling.
One great decorating idea is to create a 3D outdoor wall mural. Start with a bright blue sky background adding clouds, green grass, a bright smiling sun, and even a pond. You can add a huge 3D tree, and don't forget the little bugs that all boys love, as well as frogs, reptiles, and birds. How about including a picture of your little one sitting on a tree swing? This idea can be as exciting as you make it. Ask your little man to help with the painting. Adding his special touch will make it a fun time to spend together and he will be excited and proud of his accomplishment.
Another great addition is to add stuffed birds, frogs, and other soft and fuzzy animals. Stuffed animal shaped chairs make a cozy little area for your young man's personal space.
No room would be complete without coordinated bedding. Bright, cheerful colors with matching throw rugs and curtains can transform any room without much effort. Big fluffy comforters with matching curtains are a must to complete any boy's room. Ladybug curtain tiebacks add pizzazz to an already amazing room. This little accessory can even make a plain set of curtains fun and exciting.
Consider adding different animal wall stickers, hanging bugs, or bend the ladybugs so they can sit on a shelf or a nightstand. You can affix them to the headboard or sit them on the dresser. Let your imagination go to work as you create the perfect space for your special little boy. Butterfly Themed Nursery Ideas
Decorating your baby's nursery in a butterfly theme is a beautiful way to brighten the room for your baby girl. Butterflies are delicate creatures, each unique in their intricate designs and colors. There are creative ways you can bring the beauty of butterflies into the nursery in an elegant way that looks well put together and enhances the feel of the room.
Choosing Items
Choose a few key butterfly items for your nursery rather than overwhelming the room with everything butterfly-themed. Additional items can be coordinated to match the butterfly's colors. Your colors should be bright, as babies prefer these over pastels. Newborns, however, prefer black and white due to the contrast of shades, which is easier for them to see.
Hanging Butterflies
Take small hooks and screw them into the ceiling. Find large butterflies at Bugs-n-Blooms that can be hung from the hooks using fishing line. They'll fly around as the breeze hits them and delight the baby from her crib.
Wall Decals
Use butterfly wall decals to decorate the walls. Bugs-n-Blooms has vinyl wall decal stickers that are custom in your choice of colors. With a large color palette, you can match the decals to the colors in your baby's nursery. You can pick up other decals that work well with the butterfly theme, such as clouds for the ceiling or flowers for the butterflies to sit on.
Crib and Bedding
Decorate her crib with a few butterfly items and solid colors to coordinate. The bedding should be simple with a few butterfly items standing out from the rest. While the crib sheet can be a solid bold color, the blanket can be a colorful array of butterflies. The mobile is a great way to showcase hanging butterflies. Since butterflies are one of the more popular themes for babies, you'll be able to find several selections of butterfly mobiles available at their store, both online and in-store.
Butterfly Rug
Complete the room with a large butterfly rug or several smaller ones. You can find rugs that have an assortment of butterflies on them to rugs that are in the shape of a large butterfly.

Fun Butterfly Room Decor Ideas
We have unlimited option of colors and patterns to create a Butterfly room decor because butterflies are so colorful. Any color is good for this theme room, even colors you've never see on real butterflies!
Now lets start with the walls ....
First, decide on what color the walls are gonna be for this butterfly room decor. If your Girl has a favorite color, use it. If she's too young to know what her favorite is, just pick any color you like.
Then look for two different shades of paint of that color, a lighter one and a darker one.
Even though any color suits this butterfly bedroom, but since it's a kid's room, it's best to choose colors that are not too dark for the walls. Also try to avoid too bright colors that are not comfortable for the eyes. Use dark and bright colors for accents only, for example to make butterfly wall murals
Measure up from the floor to the height of 1.1 meters and make a straight horizontal pencil line on the walls. Put masking take right below the line and paint the upper area with the lighter wall paint. After the paint dries, take off the masking tape and place another right above the line and paint the lower area with the darker wall paint.
Other option for this butterfly room decor is to use Butterfly Wallpaper. Hunt for butterfly wallpaper that comes with the color you or your girl wants, or look for simple plain or striped wallpaper and add butterfly wallpaper border as accent.
Now we'll continue this butterfly room decor by filling up the room with furniture. Since butterflies are identical with nature, it's a good idea to use wooden brown furniture for this butterfly theme room. To make the room even more alive, use wood paints to paint.
Now lets decorate the bed ...
For the bedding, look for Butterfly Bedding Set with colors that match the wall's background colors.
Other option to tone down the room a little bit if you think the room is already too crowded with butterflies is to use plain white bed sheet, plain or striped pillow shams with any soft pastel colors, and then add a
Decorating the rest of the room ...
Now we have done most part of this butterfly room decor and we'll just add some accessories to finish the room. Here are some butterfly room decorations ideas:

Personalize Your Babys Nursery
Decorators can personalize a baby’s butterfly nursery with adorable handprint butterflies for each month of the new baby’s life. This easy project can be completed in a matter of minutes and will be a great addition to the scrap book once the nursery theme changes.
- Trace each of the baby’s hand prints on two colors of construction paper.
- Cut out the two sets of hand prints.
- Paste them onto card stock or mat board, one color for the upper wings, and the other color for the lower wings.
- Draw a butterfly body with antenna, then cut and paste to complete the picture.
Parents can help toddlers and older kids personalize the butterfly room by making beautiful tissue paper butterflies to add depth to the bedroom’s walls, and brighten the windows.
- Stack two pieces of construction paper on top of each other and fold in half.
- While the paper is still folded, cut one side of wings then unfold to reveal a symmetrical butterfly.
- Refold the butterflies and cut shapes from the wings as if making a paper snowflake.
- When finished, paste colored tissue paper or tin foil pieces on the backside of one butterfly to show through the patterns cut into the wings.
- When all the holes are filled, paste the second construction paper butterfly over the tissue paper to finish off the back.
- Fold a piece of pipe cleaner in half and twist together over the middle of the wings.
- Curl the tops of the pipe cleaner to form antenna then tie fishing line for hanging.
Parents and kids will also enjoy scoping out a bunch of butterfly illustrations from magazines and picture books at the used book store. They can clip favorite photos with their child and use the pictures to decoupage accent pieces for the room such as pencil cans, plaques for the wall, a table and chairs, or nightstand. Touches like these make a butterfly theme room feel special and fill it with happy memories.

Wall Decorating Ideas For Kids Bedrooms
We love to add the personality we love when decorating kid’s rooms. There are so many ways to achieve this from painted wall stencils, wall decals, or kid’s wallpaper.
We challenged ourselves to come up with 10 designs for wall borders for girls’ rooms to help inspire your creativity so here goes….
1) Flowers - OK. An easy one. But, there are so many ways to make this unique. Think pinks and purples for daisies and tulips. Think yellow for daisies, dandelions, and sunflowers. Vertical or horizontal borders make this the ultimate exercise in creativity. We love how the room pictured above from Wall to Wall Stencils creatively creates a border around a window.
2) Butterflies – A stylish way to dress up her room without getting complicated. Envision butterflies around a mirror or a headboard or hanging from the ceiling or attaching to the walls.
3) Insects - Add dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs, and bees to your walls and paint an cute insect-themed border near the ceiling.
4) Polka dots - A timeless decor element that can be simple and subtle or bold and cheery. Think different sized dots in the middle of the wall for a fun look for an older girl. Removable wall decals are a great solution for something less permanent than paint.
5) Disney characters - Where would we be without Disney? Pooh, Ariel, Snow White, etc. Check Babies ‘R Us or Amazon for their wallpaper border selection for a Disney themed nursery or girl’s room.
6) Ballet slippers - For the lovers of pink! Tiny toes tip toeing across the wall would add delightful detail to a pretty in pink room.
7) Princesses - Crowns, magic wands, and colorful gems for your little princess.
8) Fairies - Flitting across the wall with their cute wings and dainty look.
9) Her Name - Emma or Emily? Sophia or Isabella? Whatever the beautiful name you have chosen for her, personalize her room with her name repeating across the wall in different colors.
10) Suns and clouds - This fresh idea will bring smiles to your little girl every day as she wakes up basking in the sun. Use vinyl wall decals for decor that is easily removable.

Decorating Tips To Make Your Life Easier
Decorating Tips to Make Your Life Easier
Well, you've established a budget and chosen a theme for your nursery, now it's time to go out and get all this stuff! Before you do, there are some things you should keep in mind.
First, if you are going to buy wallpaper, look for one that is scrubbable vinyl. If it is scrubbable, it will be easier to clean.
If you have chosen to paint, then buy colors that have a matte or satin finish. This goes for furniture, too. The shinier it is, the more likely dirt will show up sooner. Also, really dark or really light colors are also likely to make dirt more visible. So, if you don't want to spend all your time cleaning the nursery, look for something in the mid-color range.
If you have decided to have carpets in the baby's room, then consider a textured carpet, not to mention a stain-resistant one. A textured carpet will help disguise dirt. A stain-resistant carpet will just make your life a bit easier when your baby spills his or her juice or spits up. You might also want to consider a hardwood floor, since it is much easier to clean.
Make sure any linen you buy for your baby's bed is machine washable. You will be doing a lot of laundry as it is. You don't need to make your job harder by adding items that need special care. A hand-crocheted quilt may be beautiful, but it will also require a hand washing, which means it will never get washed.
You might also want to install a dimmer on the light switch in the nursery. This will allow you to control the amount of light that comes on during those midnight feedings. A bright light might make your little one think it's time to be up and about. A softer light will help them get back to sleep quicker.

Creative Ideas Using Wall Murals
Creative Ideas It's not always easy to come up with baby nursery decorating ideas. Even if you don't consider yourself to be the creative type, here are some easy tricks to really make the baby's room pop!
It's Easy to Make Wall Murals If you have access to a projector, then get some overheads made of different images and pencil them onto the walls of your baby's nursery. You could do various animals, cartoons, bugs, flowers - even a map of the world if you feel really ambitious! Once the outline is there, bring it to life by painting it in. And you don't have to stick to realistic colors, so make that cat purple and that ant blue!
For those of you who do not have access to a projector, then take a trip to your nearest hardware or art supply store. They will often have stencils that you can use simply by holding them up to the wall and painting. You might want to pick up a palm tree leaf stencil to give your child a tropical baby nursery theme.
Even if something is plain and white, there's no reason why you can't dress it up. Use some brightly colored paint (or not-so-bright-but-it-matches-the-rest-of-your-room paint) to put some playful fun into that white shelf or dresser.
If you picked up some discounted blinds but they're just a blah cream color, make them more suited for your little one's room by gluing a little toy or fun drawer knob to the cord. Just make sure the cord stays out of the reach of your child since they will want to get at it once they start moving. You could also try stenciling an image onto the blinds or curtains.

Safety Tips For Decorating A Childs Room
You may not be able to check off everything on your child's (or your own!) wish list, but there are a few key needs for each age-group that you should focus on. Safety is an important issue to consider when decorating your child’s room. Therefore you should examine furniture, toys, paints, and fabrics before using them to decorate. Even the placement of your child’s bed in relation to the doorway is a decision in which safety comes into play.
Babies:
Babies' needs are crucial but simple: a safe nest to sleep in, a safe place to have diapers changed, and a comfortable spot for you to sit while feeding, cuddling, and rocking him or her. In fact, a comfy rocking or gliding chair is as important as a bed and changing table. Scientific research has shown that babies actually need a lot of cuddling in order to thrive, physically as well as mentally. If you are a new parent, you'll probably be tired and stressed, so make it as easy as possible to spend cheek-to-cheek time with your baby. You'll both be healthier! A changing table will get a lot of use, so be sure to get a good one. You can make a changing table out of a waist-high chest of drawers, but be sure you add a top with a low guardrail as well as a waterproof pad. A chest may be more versatile later, but it generally is not as safe and, therefore, not recommended. In addition, diapers and clothes will be easier to reach if you opt for a changing table with open shelves below. Choose a unit with a safety strap to go across baby's middle, or make sure you can get at things you need with one hand while keeping the other on your little wiggly worm at all times. When it's time to decorate walls, remember that, until they're between six and nine months old, babies can't see subtle colors and details. Black-and-white and other strongly contrasting colors work better as do simple patterns. A proven favorite is two dots and a curve within a circle that suggests human eyes and smiling mouth. If you don't care for vivid color schemes, choose a pastel you'd like to use longer term and pair it with a dark or bright accent hue you can change when your child gets a bit older. Another option is simply to stick with more restful pastel hues throughout the room and provide visual stimulation with age-appropriate toys. Although newborn babies' sight may be lacking, their hearing and sense of touch are almost fully developed at birth. Indulge them with safe toys in a variety of textures and soft melodic sounds. Crib toys and mobiles that move or play music will appeal to most babies as well as add attractive color and pattern to the room. Just make sure that any hanging toys your baby can reach are safe and that they do not have small detachable parts.
Toddlers:
Babies who are old enough to crawl, let alone toddle, are at their most challenging in terms of safety. At this stage they can perceive colors better than infants, but they still lack the ability to understand, say, a storybook scene on a wall.
Keep decorating ideas simple for awhile yet, and concentrate on making sure every square inch is clean and safe. For example, no hanging tablecloths, no exposed electrical outlets, no breakable or heavy items on tables and shelves, and no sharp corners on any furniture. Tots making the transition from crawling to toddling will use any available vertical item to pull themselves up, so choose furniture pieces that are sturdy and stable. For the inevitable tumbles, make sure floors are clean and resilient or softly covered with carpeting or rugs. If you don't have wall-to-wall carpeting, use slip-proof pads under every rug. Vinyl resilient tiles and wood flooring are more forgiving than ceramic tile or stone, but nonslip rugs can make a real difference on any floor. Depending on how active or how tall your child is, you may want to make the transition to a low youth bed now. If there's even a chance your child can climb out of the crib, it's time to move on.
