Prosper, Texas – January 9, 2012 – Bugs-n-Blooms, LLC, a leading supplier of butterfly decor and butterfly wing dress-up accessories geared to delight little girls, is pleased to announce the expansion of their boy-friendly line of room decor accessories.  To coincide with the beginning of 2012, the company is offering a selection of sports themed alphabet wall stickers that coordinate well with other room decorations that they currently offer and that make a fun addition to any sports themed nursery, bedroom or playroom.
The decision to offer more boy-friendly room decor was made after requests were received from customers that had previously used some of Bugs-n-Blooms’ butterfly room decorations and other sweet and colorful room accessories, asking for products that would be better geared to little boys as they grew out of their nursery decor.  The new wall stickers can be used along with Bugs-n-Blooms’ butterfly nursery decorations or other garden themed decor, or they can be used on their own to create a sports inspired room design.
“Most of the products we offer are geared to little girls,” explains Jennifer De Vol, owner of Bugs-n-Blooms.  ”But our butterfly decorations are also sometimes used in baby boy nurseries and we wanted our customers to be able to continue to add a bit of fun to their little boys’ rooms, even as they start to grow.   We also have customers that have enjoyed decorating their little girls’ rooms with our products and then come back to us looking for products that are more suitable for their sons’ rooms. And of course, there are also plenty of little girls that like sports over butterflies and fairies! Increasing the variety offered to our customers was our main inspiration for adding more boy-friendly decor options.”
The new sport themed wall stickers come in a choice of baseball, basketball, soccer or football designs and adhere quickly to walls and other smooth surfaces. The stickers are self-adhesive, are removable and reusable, and can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Each set of stickers comes with a ball sticker (depending on the sport) and a series of alphabet letters that can be used to personalize the room with the child’s name or a saying.
In addition to sports themed wall stickers, Bug-n-Blooms offers a wide selection of nursery and bedroom decorations, including nylon butterflies, ladybugs, dragonflies, bumblebees and flowers that can be hung or attached to a wall, mini versions of their larger garden and butterfly decorations that can be placed on furniture or shelves, and even matching mobiles to hang over baby’s crib.  The company continually expands its line to meet customer requests, to offer variety, and to provide decor options in the hottest color combination’s on the market.
“We aim to bring a bit of beauty and whimsy to the rooms of little girls and boys,” says De Vol.  ”We think our new sports wall stickers will be very well received and will be a great addition to children’s bedrooms and playrooms alike.  We are excited to see the response to our newest products for 2012!”

Tools and materials needed to paint your own DIY baby nursery wall mural:
- picture to use as your wall mural printed onto clear vellum
- an overhead projector
- a pencil or two, and some assorted colored paints
- an assortment of paint brushes in different sizes
- a drop cloth
To get started you will want to apply a fresh coat of paint to your baby’s nursery. You’ll want a nice background to start with.
The next most important task is to find a good picture to use to base your baby nursery wall mural on. This can be one single graphic, or even combine a few different pictures. It can even be a complete scene which will cover an entire wall or two.
I would recommend hitting a local library to find the picture you are looking for. Cruise through the children’s books section and just start nosing and thumbing through the books. Use the library’s computers to search out books that may be appropriate to your theme. Many of these computer systems will perform a keyword search. If you are doing a jungle theme, for example, just do a search for “jungle” and see what pops up.
Once you find a picture take it on over to a local copy shop. They will color copy the image for you onto translucent paper. It will probably run you under $2.50. I would recommend even getting two copies just in case.
Hopefully you have an overhead projector available to you. If you do not, just ask around. You never know if any friends or family will have one available. I would also inquire about borrowing or renting one from your local library. Don’t forget to check local schools or even just plain go buy one.
The idea is simple. Use the overhead projector to project your chosen baby nursery wall mural image onto the wall. Use pencils to trace the pictures exactly as they look. Once the outlines and whatnot are traced on you can turn the projector off and then paint the mural using your pencil lines. Use your original picture as a reference for color and shading. You really can pull of some amazing wall art with this technique.
Make sure you have an array of paints available to you. I would buy larger cans of the colors that are most prominent, and smaller jars for other colors. You can even just buy a few primary colors and mix them together to get the results you want.
Having an array of different sized brushes is key. You will want some very fine and thin brushes for areas of detail, and larger ones for shading in large areas. Always buy quality brushes. It is tempting to buy the cheapest brushes available, but these brushes always end up loosing bristles straight into your artwork. Avoid picking these bristles out and ruining your work by simply buying quality paint brushes.

Decorators can personalize a baby’s butterfly nursery with adorable handprint butterflies for each month of the new baby’s life. This easy project can be completed in a matter of minutes and will be a great addition to the scrap book once the nursery theme changes.
- Trace each of the baby’s hand prints on two colors of construction paper.
- Cut out the two sets of hand prints.
- Paste them onto card stock or mat board, one color for the upper wings, and the other color for the lower wings.
- Draw a butterfly body with antenna, then cut and paste to complete the picture.
Parents can help toddlers and older kids personalize the butterfly room by making beautiful tissue paper butterflies to add depth to the bedroom’s walls, and brighten the windows.
- Stack two pieces of construction paper on top of each other and fold in half.
- While the paper is still folded, cut one side of wings then unfold to reveal a symmetrical butterfly.
- Refold the butterflies and cut shapes from the wings as if making a paper snowflake.
- When finished, paste colored tissue paper or tin foil pieces on the backside of one butterfly to show through the patterns cut into the wings.
- When all the holes are filled, paste the second construction paper butterfly over the tissue paper to finish off the back.
- Fold a piece of pipe cleaner in half and twist together over the middle of the wings.
- Curl the tops of the pipe cleaner to form antenna then tie fishing line for hanging.
Parents and kids will also enjoy scoping out a bunch of butterfly illustrations from magazines and picture books at the used book store. They can clip favorite photos with their child and use the pictures to decoupage accent pieces for the room such as pencil cans, plaques for the wall, a table and chairs, or nightstand. Touches like these make a butterfly theme room feel special and fill it with happy memories.

We love to add the personality we love when decorating kid’s rooms. There are so many ways to achieve this from painted wall stencils, wall decals, or kid’s wallpaper.
We challenged ourselves to come up with 10 designs for wall borders for girls’ rooms to help inspire your creativity so here goes….
1) Flowers – OK. An easy one. But, there are so many ways to make this unique. Think pinks and purples for daisies and tulips. Think yellow for daisies, dandelions, and sunflowers. Vertical or horizontal borders make this the ultimate exercise in creativity. We love how the room pictured above from Wall to Wall Stencils creatively creates a border around a window.
2) Butterflies – A stylish way to dress up her room without getting complicated. Envision butterflies around a mirror or a headboard or hanging from the ceiling or attaching to the walls.
3) Insects – Add dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs, and bees to your walls and paint an cute insect-themed border near the ceiling.
4) Polka dots – A timeless decor element that can be simple and subtle or bold and cheery. Think different sized dots in the middle of the wall for a fun look for an older girl. Removable wall decals are a great solution for something less permanent than paint.
5) Disney characters – Where would we be without Disney? Pooh, Ariel, Snow White, etc. Check Babies ‘R Us or Amazon for their wallpaper border selection for a Disney themed nursery or girl’s room.
6) Ballet slippers – For the lovers of pink! Tiny toes tip toeing across the wall would add delightful detail to a pretty in pink room.
7) Princesses – Crowns, magic wands, and colorful gems for your little princess.
Fairies – Flitting across the wall with their cute wings and dainty look.
9) Her Name – Emma or Emily? Sophia or Isabella? Whatever the beautiful name you have chosen for her, personalize her room with her name repeating across the wall in different colors.
10) Suns and clouds - This fresh idea will bring smiles to your little girl every day as she wakes up basking in the sun. Use vinyl wall decals for decor that is easily removable.

Creative Ideas It’s not always easy to come up with baby nursery decorating ideas. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be the creative type, here are some easy tricks to really make the baby’s room pop!
It’s Easy to Make Wall Murals If you have access to a projector, then get some overheads made of different images and pencil them onto the walls of your baby’s nursery. You could do various animals, cartoons, bugs, flowers – even a map of the world if you feel really ambitious! Once the outline is there, bring it to life by painting it in. And you don’t have to stick to realistic colors, so make that cat purple and that ant blue!
For those of you who do not have access to a projector, then take a trip to your nearest hardware or art supply store. They will often have stencils that you can use simply by holding them up to the wall and painting. You might want to pick up a palm tree leaf stencil to give your child a tropical baby nursery theme.
Even if something is plain and white, there’s no reason why you can’t dress it up. Use some brightly colored paint (or not-so-bright-but-it-matches-the-rest-of-your-room paint) to put some playful fun into that white shelf or dresser.
If you picked up some discounted blinds but they’re just a blah cream color, make them more suited for your little one’s room by gluing a little toy or fun drawer knob to the cord. Just make sure the cord stays out of the reach of your child since they will want to get at it once they start moving. You could also try stenciling an image onto the blinds or curtains.

Painting and decorating her bedroom or nursery walls made simple ……. So you want to paint your little girls bedroom something cute and in her favorite colors? A simple and easy way to do this, is have her pick her 2 favorite colors that compliment nicely together. Or you can also pick colors from her bedding. For example choose pink and purple paint as every girl loves those colors. To paint her walls in a creative and original way, paint the top 3/4 of the wall one color (for example purple), then paint the lower 1/4 of the wall the other color (for example pink). Then to divide her newly two-tone painted walls, simply get some white (or any other contrasting color) acrylic craft paint and get a round stencil brush and dry paint (pound the brush to the wall, not brush stroke painting) a strip between the two colors. To add sparkle to the room, simply add some glitter spray (or glitter paint) to the walls on the white strip that divides her two wall colors.
Then decorate her room, add some butterflies or dragonflies to her walls or ceiling. Make a magical garden themed bedroom or a fairy princess resort by adding a few fluttering butterflies that easily attach to the ceiling or walls. with the included fishing line and hoop. You can finish offer her room also by using some daisy flowers that coordinate with her room colors and also sprinkle some mini bees or ladybugs on the walls , lampshades, canopies, bed posts, curtains, desk, or wall mirrors for a little delicate touch of whimsy.
