Tea parties are a great idea for birthdays or for a simple get-together for girls and their friends. Girls love the idea of a party where they can dress up in tutu skirts and other costumes to have tea and cookies with friends in a decorated and imaginative setting. Decorating and setting up a tea party does not have to cost a lot of money, but can make the difference in creating a fun and exciting experience for the party attendees.
Costume ideas
The Alice in Wonderland theme is popular for tea parties. Some of the costumes may include tutu skirts, butterfly wings, top hats, and rabbit ears. Children might also dress up as different animals like rabbits or cats to match the story theme.
Tutu skirts can be combined with various other costume add-ons such as rabbit ears and butterfly wings. There is no such thing as a perfect way to dress up for an Alice in Wonderland tea party, so be creative and have fun with the costume choices.
Decorating
The decoration theme should be based on a sort of random and creative design that mimics the Mad Hatter tea party. Decorations might include paper lanterns, various teapots with different colored saucers, and “odd” furniture. The theme typically involves a lot different colors, so as many variations of color as possible can be used for the best effect.
A chess set might be put out with the board and pieces scattered about. Another idea is to decorate walls or other areas with large playing cards. Fake or real flowers are a great addition, and smaller playing cards can be used to decorate flower vases.
Other ideas
Playing the soundtrack from the Alice in Wonderland animated movie sets the musical scene. Food and drink ideas can be as simple as cookies and punch, or slightly more elaborate Cheshire cat, top hat, and clock-shaped cookies with decorative frosting. Gift bags filled with stickers, candy, small mirrors, or toy jewelry make great party favors.
Be Creative
There are many ways to go about decorating and dressing up for the party. Costumes can be as simple as tutu skirts or as elaborate as rabbit and cat-themed costumes. The most important thing is to have fun with the design and preparation of a Wonderland-themed tea party and let your imagination take care of the fine details.

Want to surprise your little girl with a beautiful wonderland, all her own? Transform her bedroom into a mystical garden with butterflies, bumblebees, and ladybug decorations. Ideas and materials can be found and bought online, allowing you to personalize her private garden with magnificent decals, wall hangings, and mobiles of butterflies, bumblebees, and ladybugs.
Tie back the curtains with decorated ties and ribbons and place a mobile above her bed to allow sweet dreams to flow. You can also paint her name onto the wall, or, if that’s too difficult, buy wall decals of letters to spell it out with ease. Choose the letters in her name, and the bugs that she would most enjoy. Place colored swirled flowers around the walls, and add some buzzing bumblebees next to them. Create a wonderland she will enjoy time and time again.
The options are endless, and you can add so much to her room. You can place a sun, clouds, and many other options of wall stickers to her walls to add a little more to the scenery. Choose baby bumblebees and smiling bumblebees to complete the scene. Give her room a little shine with glitter bumblebees—They can pollinate the glitter flowers. A garden transformation is affordable, beautiful, and unique for your special girl.
You can be sure that you get everything she needs for her imagination to take flight. Decorate with confidence.

A bug-themed party makes a fun and unique birthday party. It is a great opportunity to teach children about insects and spark their interest in science. Bug birthday parties do not have to cost much, and they can be a lot of fun for both parents and children.
Decorations
For younger children, it is better to use dragonfly, butterfly, or ladybug decorations that are less “scary.” Older children might enjoy grasshopper and spider decorations as well. It would also be fun to get the children involved with designing and setting up the ladybug decorations themselves with the assistance of adults.
The best place to hold a bug birthday party would be outside, to create more interaction with nature. Napkins with bug designs printed or drawn on them and plastic bugs placed on table covers can spice up the table.
Games
“Pin the spider on the web” could be a modified version of “pin the tail on the donkey.” Just use a web drawn on a poster board and a spider instead of the donkey’s tail. The child who gets closest to the middle of the web, wins.
Another fun game called “run ants run!” would have one child selected as a leader and the rest of the kids would follow the leader around the yard. Minor obstacles can be set up around the yard like cones. Whichever action that the leader performs, the rest of the children have to follow. When the leader yells “run!” the children have to run back to a designated home area before the leader tags them. The last remaining child wins the game.
Food
There are several food ideas you may wish to include. There’s the traditional and simple “ants on a log,” which are celery stalks filled with peanut butter and topped with raisins. Butterfly or other insect-shaped crackers can be used with some type of meat and/or cheese.
There are also several bug candies that can be used, such as gummy worms or spiders. Gummy worms can be mixed with crushed Oreos in a cup for a “worms in dirt” treat. Drinks might include “bug juice punch” which can be as easy as mixing orange juice with green food coloring.
For a bug-themed birthday party, get a bug-shaped cake. Bug cupcakes can be made from something as simple as a regular cupcake decorated with two pretzels for butterfly wings and some frosting for a butterfly body and head.

Colorful, elegant, fragile — fitting descriptions for butterfly wings. No wonder that children and women love using them as hair accessories: the vivid colors, the elegant design on wings and the seemingly fragile nature of butterflies aptly symbolize who they are.
Girls’ headbands or bows will look more lovely if butterfly wings on top of flowers are added, as though there is a small, pretty garden on top of a girl’s head. These butterflies, made from durable nylon, come in a variety of colors that will match perfectly a girl’s costume or simple white dress.
For a costume party, dress your little girl with her usual ballet suit, put on a purple tutu, get her a large butterfly wing for her back, and, as final touches, pick a wand with small purple butterfly wing and a headband with flowers and butterfly wings. She will look even more beautiful — like a little fairy from a secret, magical garden.
Butterfly wings as hair accessories are not limited to matching a girl’s dress or costume–a bride will look enchanting and elegant with butterfly wings on her veil. A white, nylon butterfly designed with stylish embroidery and shiny, white and silver sequins or beads of different shapes and sizes will turn a simple veil into a majestic one. Every bride should feel royal and grand on her wedding day; and with her princess-like dress and lovely accessories, she will feel like a little girl whose dream of getting swept off her feet by a handsome prince finally came true.

There’s nothing little girls love more than playing dress up, so when it’s time for your little one’s birthday, why not throw a ballerina party? This girl’s-only affair would require attendants dress up in tights, tutu skirts, ballet slippers and anything else with ruffles or frills.
Of course, there’s more to ballerina parties than tutu skirts. In fact, you’ll need to take a few things into consideration during the planning stage. For instance, when and where will the party take place? How many parents will be able to chaperone? How many children will be in attendance?
Once you’ve answered these vital questions, you can move onto some of the more fun aspects of party planning. For instance, consider the sort of decorations you’ll need to purchase or even make to give the party all of the tutu skirt frilliness it needs. Consider buying some pink tulle at a local craft store and hanging it up around the room or around the backyard. Buy plastic party cups in white, pink or black with party plates to match. And don’t forget the napkins! Little kids are messy, so have plenty for cleanup.
Consider the foods that will be served. If this is a birthday party, make sure the cake is completely decked out in the ballet theme. Other foods should just be simple and tailored for kids. Hamburgers and hot dogs always work.
Buy the tutu skirts, and decorate the area with tulle. The children can have fun dancing and twirling around feeling like little princesses.
In the end, have fun when planning a ballerina party and remember: your kids will have fun, no matter what!

With summer right around the corner, it’s understandable that you want to spruce up your garden. After all, if you’re going to be spending more time outdoors having barbecues or just lounging on the patio, you’ll need to add a few decorative touches to bring your backyard up to speed with your style.
To accomplish this, consider looking into butterfly decorations. First of all, what says summer better than butterfly-themed decorations like wind chimes, bird feeders or even thermometers? Second, butterfly decorations match the natural beauty of your backyard perfectly. You don’t want overpowering décor on your patio or deck; rather, you need something simple and subtle that harmonizes with the beauty of nature, not shouts it down.
Likewise, butterfly decorations can make you feel relaxed when you’re lounging outdoors. All you need to do is lay back on a chair and watch a hanging butterfly decoration spin around in the breeze. Your troubles will melt away and you’ll feel at peace. And honestly, in this day and age where everything is all rush, all the time, it’s good to put your feet up, take a load off and just take time to breathe once in a while.
You may also wish to consider using butterfly decorations in your garden. Wooden butterflies can add a sweet touch when placed in your flowerbeds. You may even be able to find a sign that keeps with the butterfly theme while making your garden all the more welcoming.
Whether you want to mellow out your backyard or add a touch of whimsy to your garden, butterfly decorations will meet your needs. It’s a simple addition, but it will make all the difference.

A great theme for any little girl’s nursery is butterflies. It’s not only versatile and easy to implement, but offers a world of whimsy and imagination for your baby girl to experience.
A number of different background colors can be used for this nursery theme. From pastel pinks to bright yellows and greens, virtually any color you choose can become a wonderful canvas on which you can create an enchanting and alluring butterfly theme.
Butterfly elements for your room can range from bedding, to wall decor, butterfly artwork, mobiles and even lettering. A garden, castle or simple outdoor spring feeling can be brought into the room to add special settings for your butterfly decor. Some easy implementation ideas for adding butterflies into your nursery theme are:
1) Mobiles – What else could be more mesmerizing and dream-like than watching a beautiful, elegant mobile made from nylon butterflies that shimmer and dance in the light during the day, and provide an ethereal glow in the dimmed atmosphere at night?
You can hang the mobile from the ceiling or in the typical mobile application on the crib. Hanging the mobile from the ceiling will give you extended use once the baby has grown to toddler age and leaves the crib behind.
2) Personalization – Using butterfly wall stickers or letters spelling the baby’s name will give a personal and designer feel and will help learning of the child’s name by the early and repetitive sight of the word. An additional bonus is that the letters can be moved and rearranged in a different presentation style if you change themes at some later date.
3) Butterfly artwork – Frame storybook pages or mount an open frame with nylon butterflies, greenery, dragonflies and even flowers inside. These ideas will give you original and unique elements that can’t be found elsewhere because they came from your imagination. They can also be re-used or re-done when you’d like a little change or your child falls in love with a certain story.
4) Accessories – Use butterfly curtain tie-backs, curtain rod adornments, butterfly lamp shades, message boards and even a growth chart. The little
details like this will complete your theme and provide a vibrant yet delicate feel.
This theme is one that can grow with your child from baby to toddler and even a young girl. Butterflies are mystical, magical creatures that capture the imagination at any age. Fluttering on the wall from flower to flower or softly floating on a mobile, butterfly decor in your nursery is an amazing theme selection that can be modified and re-worked to save your future time and expense
