A tutu skirt isn’t just a versatile, comfortable piece of attire for your child’s wardrobe. With the right design, color, and fabric, tutu skirts can actually express your child’s personality.
Tutu skirts come in a variety of colors and designs, and they can be further customized with accessories and other clothing choices, like leotards and tights, to emphasize your child’s nature.
For a high-energy child, a hot pink tutu skirt with zebra print borders will show that boundless spunk. This design would also be a good choice for a girl with a bold personality, with its attention grabbing colors and its eye-catching oversized gerber daisy accent. A fire-engine red tutu skirt featuring a large bow and sparkle highlights is also a good choice to showcase a girl’s feisty character.
A girl with delicate tastes will appreciate a tutu skirt highlighted by ribbons or small flowers. The subtle embellishments will fit in well with an outlook that may be more reserved or down-to-earth. A layered tutu with a small flower at the waist also conveys elegance and simplicity.
Tutu skirts come in a variety of colors, including purple, pink and green, but for some children, one color won’t be enough. A rainbow tutu skirt is a good solution for a child who can’t settle on a favorite hue. Its accents of tiny butterflies and a large ribbon add pizzazz to this piece.
Tutu skirts are absolutely appropriate for everyday wear, but they can also form the basis of a costume or special occasion outfit. Pair a tutu skirt with butterfly wings and a wand, and your child will be transformed into a butterfly princess.
In fact, you can take the tutu skirt motif even farther and turn it into a theme for a party or play date. Have all of your daughter’s friends don their own tutus and give them butterfly wings of their own. Decorate the room with butterfly decor, and give each guest a small nylon butterfly to take home as a memento of the event.

A pair of butterfly wings is a versatile addition to a little girl’s wardrobe. Here are some possible purposes for these fanciful accessories.
Birthday party costumes – Butterfly wings can be the basis of memorable birthday parties. The wings will designate the guest of honor, and you can complete the birthday girl’s butterfly costume with a fairy wand, tutu skirt, and matching headband. Use butterfly decor throughout the party space, and include a mini nylon butterfly in every guest’s favor to emphasize the theme.
Portrait attire – Your child’s yearly portrait should capture her nature. If she’s a fun, light-hearted child, then butterfly wings can highlight her personality in her annual photo session. Pair the wings with a leotard, tights and tutu skirt, and have the photographer snap some action shots as she dances around the set.
Creative playwear – Butterfly wings can spark a world of fantasy during playtime. Have your child don the wings, and let her imagination take flight. She might float around an imaginary garden, chatting with other make-believe insects. Maybe she’ll decide to add a tiara to her wings and become a butterfly princess, instead. The possibilities are endless.
Special occasions – Encourage your daughter to wear her wings for special occasions, like New Year’s Eve parties or summer pool parties. (Just be sure the wings come off before she jumps in the water!). Have a special afternoon “tea” with her every few months, complete with all the trimmings, and have her wear butterfly wings to make the event feel that much more unique.
These are just a few suggestions for butterfly wings’ potential. The wings come in a variety of colors and with assorted fun design features, like glitter or ribbons, which add to the effect. Have your child choose her favorites to ensure that she’ll treasure her wings for a long while.

Prosper, Texas – February 2, 2011 – Bugs-n-Blooms, LLC, a leading supplier of butterfly wings, butterfly decor and dress up clothing, and other feminine garden-themed accessories, is pleased to announce their inclusion in the Winter/Holiday 2010 edition of Tots to Teens Magazine. The digital magazine was recently introduced by the Tots to Teens website and features a collection of interesting products and merchandise that appeal to individuals with children of almost all ages, from babies and young children through to teens.
Bugs-n-Blooms offers a wide selection of butterfly merchandise, along with related merchandise that fit in with the dainty, feminine and whimsical theme of the company’s product line. The digital magazine featured some of Bugs-n-Blooms’ most popular items, nylon butterfly wings, as well as showcasing smaller versions of their nylon dragonfly decor, nylon ladybug decor, nylon bee decor and nylon flower decor. All products displayed in the magazine’s feature were shown in soft, pastel hues, typically at home in little girls’ rooms and nurseries. However, some products are also offered in more vivid and vibrant color schemes to better suit the tastes of older girls as well.
The winter edition of Tots to Teens Magazine was a holiday guide, and Jennifer DeVol, owner of Bugs-n-Blooms, admits she is honored to have been asked to be included in the publication. “Our products are uniquely suited for babies and little girls, or parents of little girls that wish to have dreamy and magical decorations in their daughter’s rooms that can spark the imagination and add a touch of whimsy,” explains DeVol. “But our garden themed accessories can be equally at home in an older girl’s room. I was happy to see our products displayed next to a girl’s bedding set which would fit in a girl’s bedroom of almost any age, because it was easy to see how nicely our products can enhance almost any feminine decor. Although generally thought of as products geared just to babies and very young girls, our garden decor can truly suit girls of just about any age, from tots to teens.”
DeVol originally created her company when seeking inspiring decorations for her own daughter’s room. Since the beginning, she has listened to requests and ideas from her customers and has vastly increased her product line to meet those requests, adding different designs, different materials, and different color combinations. The nylon butterfly wings, among her original products and still most popular, come in multi-tiered versions and sport embellishments that include glitter, sequins, gems and ribbon. “Our products are all about brightening the day of girls of all ages – and for the last eight years, we have been doing just that.”
