Colorful Butterfly Nursery Decor for a Baby Girl’s Bedroom
Brilliant butterfly nursery decor is a trendy choice for a baby girl’s bedroom motif. Their delicate wings and vibrant colors fill a baby’s bedroom with the happiness of springtime’s growth and new life.
Walls for the Butterfly Theme Nursery
Wallpaper options abound depicting pink, purple, yellow, and blue butterflies set against green leaves and colorful flowers, but decorators might also opt for the more affordable coat of paint. The theme works equally well in soft shades of pastel and bold jewel tones. With this in mind, parents may want to choose bedding and accent pieces to help select their foundation color.
Once the walls are covered, parents can add a butterfly theme wallpaper border or try their hand at stencils. Some may want to attempt a mural depicting a beautiful butterfly garden. Peel and stick wall decals or wallpaper murals are an equally attractive option.

Butterfly wings and fairy wings are a wonderful accessory for any little girl who loves dress up. It is amazing how much joy a little girl can get out of a simple inexpensive item such as fairy dress up wings. Her imagination will take flight as she lets her dress up wings carry her away into her Neverland. She can pretend to be a fairy or even a fairy princess and her adventures never seem to end.
Perhaps you remember what fun it was to be able to spend your day in imagination. What freedom it gives to anyone’s mind to take that time and pretend. Our little ones seem to have it down pat. It’s nice to know that small and simple things can add that important element to her growth. Whether it is a new set of wings for a Halloween dress up costume or just for everyday play it seems fairy wings are a hit that will last forever. There are so many different styles and colors with the butterfly wings and fairy wings these days that you can offer for your little fairy princess. Pink is of course a popular color for little girls but there are many who like rainbow fairy wings or even lavender or purple wings for their dress up costume. Perhaps they already want a variety so they have a color for each outfit. We all know that desire to have the right accessory for each outfit will start all too soon.
Think of the smiles you get to enjoy when she dawns her favorite butterfly wings and seems to fly off into her play land. A little boy might spend hours watching the bugs and exploring to see the butterflies in their element but your little girl will take it upon herself to become one of them at every opportunity dawning her wings often as soon as she wakes and perhaps changing her outfit several times a day. She will want to wear them to the shopping mall or even on a trip to the grocery store and why shouldn’t she? She only gets to be a kid once. The rest of her life she will spend remembering the time and wishing she could go back.

We love what mom Shannon did to create this magical fairytale room for her own little princess, Taylor. After all, who wouldn’t love the soft pink and cream colors, romantic chandelier and whimsical hanging nylon butterflies in this beautiful nursery? This nursery is traditional yet soft and feminine, but also with a hint of fantasy. We also love what was done with the walls, which included painting wide beige stripes and adding hand-painted trees to create a magical fairytale touch to the room.
To create your own fairytale look for your own little princess, we suggest the following decorating ideas:
Walls
Start with pink walls and create a two-tone look, for example what mom Shannon did with the beige stripes or paint the top of the walls a light pink and the bottom a darker shade of pink.
Once the wall has been painted, consider adding an elegant mural to give the walls some flair. For example, mom Shannon added a tree right out of a fairytale story. You could also paint a castle mural or a scene out of one of your favorite princess stories. If you don’t have the budget or time for a painted-on mural, try adding any number of wall decals to create a fairytale look for your princess’ nursery.
Accessories
Consider adding a sheer white or pink canopy over the bed or crib. A canopy of the bed will add the feeling of royalty to the nursery. The bedding can be a neutral color like cream or white with hints of pink detailing.
Add a vanity to create a true princess feeling to the room. Consider a wood vanity with a vintage feel and curved mirror and a white or pink base.
Complete the look of the room off with a collection of princess accessories or other decor that adds flair to the room. We love the white & pink butterflies hanging from the Taylor’s nursery, but other princess accessories could be pink rug, chandelier, night lamp, clock, chair or dress-up chest.

Creative Ideas It’s not always easy to come up with baby nursery decorating ideas. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be the creative type, here are some easy tricks to really make the baby’s room pop!
It’s Easy to Make Wall Murals If you have access to a projector, then get some overheads made of different images and pencil them onto the walls of your baby’s nursery. You could do various animals, cartoons, bugs, flowers – even a map of the world if you feel really ambitious! Once the outline is there, bring it to life by painting it in. And you don’t have to stick to realistic colors, so make that cat purple and that ant blue!
For those of you who do not have access to a projector, then take a trip to your nearest hardware or art supply store. They will often have stencils that you can use simply by holding them up to the wall and painting. You might want to pick up a palm tree leaf stencil to give your child a tropical baby nursery theme.
Even if something is plain and white, there’s no reason why you can’t dress it up. Use some brightly colored paint (or not-so-bright-but-it-matches-the-rest-of-your-room paint) to put some playful fun into that white shelf or dresser.
If you picked up some discounted blinds but they’re just a blah cream color, make them more suited for your little one’s room by gluing a little toy or fun drawer knob to the cord. Just make sure the cord stays out of the reach of your child since they will want to get at it once they start moving. You could also try stenciling an image onto the blinds or curtains.

A wonderful review about Bugs-n-Blooms that was written by Tammi, Canada …..
As a Mom of girls, I have always enjoyed decorating their room. Stemming from my own childhood wishes {I still want that canopy bed!}, I can re-live the world of fairies and fairy tales through my kids. A few times I wondered if I should start keeping their decor simple and modern, but frilly and pretty has been too much fun. After all, it’s the magic of being a young girl!
Bugs-n-Blooms is an online shop that caters to the little girl in your life, with versatile room decor and more. My girls received an assortment of items from Bugs-n-Blooms, all of them inspired by make-believe and imagination.
First, I must say that these items are made to last with high-quality materials with precise and fine detail. In fact, all of the items are designed by them, and are copyrighted. The bugs and flowers I received are all made with strong nylon, in vibrant colors. There are no loose strings, stray threads, nor imperfections. The lovely details that make them beautiful come in sequins, crystals, jewels, beads, ribbons, and glitter. And, if you think that there is ‘just a butterfly’ for instance, you are mistaken. There is endless choice in colors, sizes, layers, embellishments, and tones. For this reason, I like Bugs-n-Blooms as you can customize room decor to suit your exact liking.
Bugs-n-Blooms also has fabulous Curtain Tiebacks, and we received a yellow flower and a red ladybug. They are very colorful and fun, and certainly put some life into the kids’ drab curtains. Glitter and ribbons adorn the bugs, and the bendable wire hangers allow for use with any type of curtain.
One of my favorite items is the Pink Hanging Butterfly Mobile. Each butterfly is embellished so that is dances in the sunlight. The wings are layered to add dimension and movement. Thick and strong fishing line is used to ensure that it lasts {and so it doesn’t tangle}. This mobile hangs in the twins rooms, and every time they see it they ‘ohhh’ & “ahh’, giggle & laugh. If I blow in the air and make the butterflies dance, they try to blow as well, swaying with them.
The girls also got a mix of mini bugs and mini flowers to adorn their walls or hang from the ceiling. I have one over each crib, which is nice to keep them entertained while I get breakfast ready. Plus, I had to take out their crib mobiles long ago, so this is a nice {and safe} alternative for when babies are older. I also got little mini nylon bugs, which I have added to their lamp shade and onto their bookshelf. This is nice, as it completes their room and the feel of the space.
It goes to show that the little touches make a room, and the girls sure do love their new accessories. I think Bugs-n-Blooms would also appeal to themed showers, parties and weddings! Take a look at their decorating ideas.
