As beautiful as gel candles are, they are not as popular as wax candles. In the baby showers where the favors are gel candles people are amazed at how beautiful they are and yet they don’t see many of them around. Under different lighting the gel candles can take on an appearance of a celestial water paradise. In the sun the appearance turns in an aqua bubbling world of beauty.
Beautiful Butterfly Candle Decorations
When creating the candle favors one can control the amount of bubbles desired by the temperature to which you heat the gel. This baby shower candle was created for a mom-to-be that had a passion for butterflies. Everything at the baby shower was butterfly related and most of the baby gifts all had butterfly theme.

Many parents are anxious to start decorating their baby’s nursery, some as soon as they find out they’re pregnant. Others put it off as long as they can, either out of superstition or because they can’t seem to decide on the nursery décor. Whether you fall into the first group or the second, this article can help you out with all of your baby room decorating needs.
Designing on a Budget
One of the first things you should consider is how much you can afford. The total cost should include furnishings, paint, blinds or curtains, and any other items you would like to decorate the room with. While you may be tempted to go all out on the room, especially if this is your first child, there are some good reasons not to.
First, keep in mind the design you would like. If the room is decorated with a very young theme, you will probably need to redecorate again in a few short years. If you don’t mind redecorating again, then try to establish a very small budget on this room. There’s no sense in spending thousands of dollars if you plan to get rid of it all in five years.
Secondly, the more you would like to do in a room, the more expensive and time consuming it will be. Remember, simple is not only easier to do, but easier to pay for, as well.
Splurge on One Item
If you do feel like splurging, then choose one item that you feel is worth that extra amount of money. Bay nursery bedding can cost quite a bit of money, but it also comes in a variety of styles and can really add something to a room. You may find a set that’s expensive but just so fabulous that you would like to design the whole room around it.
Once you have established a budget, start thinking about ways you can cut corners. Just because you end up paying far less than what you budgeted doesn’t mean you can’t have a beautiful baby nursery.

Baby room decor is more than just cribs and rocking chairs. Little accents that might not cost a lot can really add to the room’s overall appearance. Have you consider replacing the existing light switch cover for something a bit more amusing?
A dresser is also a big item that can easily be made over with very little effort. You can change the knobs to transform it from plain and a bit dull to quirky and fun.
If you’ve decided to keep the color on the wall neutral, consider spicing it up a bit with some wall pictures and hangings. Some may even double as a light and any furniture that can serve two purposes is always a great deal. (Keep that in mind when you look for changing tables. Some can be used later on as a dresser.)
Growth charts are also a great feature in a child’s room. Plus, you can buy them in a variety of styles, such as butterfly, giraffes, seahorses, dinosaurs, flowers and cars. If you’ve decided on a themed room, it will be easy to find one that matches. A growth chart is also something that can stay in the room for years to come.
Lamps with fun bases can also help to liven up a room. Not only can you easily find something to match any theme you may have chosen, but you can also keep it in the room for many years to come.
If you’ve decided to have hardwood floors, you may still decide you’d like a rug to dress the room up a bit. Unlike carpeting, rugs tend to be easier to clean – some smaller ones can even go in the washing machine. Even if you have carpeting in the room already, a rug might still help to bring some pop into the room.
One popular feature in a lot of newborn baby room is a mobile. These can be an excellent way of soothing and stimulating your baby. Some come equipped with just the basics while others have lights and play classical music. However, regardless of what kind of mobile you get, remember to remove it from your child’s crib when they are able to pull themselves up.
Decorating a baby’s nursery can be a lot of fun, but you don’t need to run out and buy everything at once. Your newborn won’t need a bookshelf right away. One of the best ways to keep the room looking nice without breaking the bank is to simply keep adding to it over time. This will help to keep the room looking fresh and allow it to grow with your child.

Butterflies on the Baby Shower Invitations
One of the most common uses of butterfly images is on baby shower invitations. This makes perfect sense since the birth of a baby coincides with the beautiful imagery of a caterpillar being born into a butterfly as it enters the world as a delicate and beautiful creature. Both pink butterflies and blue butterflies make wonderful decorations on baby shower invitations. If you know the gender of the baby and prefer to use traditional colors for each gender, then obviously the pink butterfly would be for the girls, and the blue would be for the boys. However some people like to go non-traditional and use pink or blue for both, which is also acceptable. Party experts also suggest inserting a copy of the ultrasound picture of the baby in with each invitation. It really excites people to actually see the baby, and it provides encouragement for people to attend the baby shower and take part.

Bouncy and bright! Balloons and flowers are the theme for this backyard birthday party.
Nestled in the clearing of any backyard is a birthday-girl’s dream garden: A lawn-blanket meadow grows in the center; colorful balloon blossoms, Botanicus rubberous, line its borders, and the sweet fragrance of cupcakes fills the air. A floral-themed birthday party features all of these delights, and it isn’t difficult or expensive to pull off.
Invitation How-To
Hint at the party’s theme with balloon invitations. To make, punch six holes in a store bought card — one in the center and five surrounding it. Starting at the center, weave a long balloon through the holes; tie them off inside the card and trim excess. Thread a green balloon through four punched holes to make a stem and leaf.
Flower Balloon How-To
These giant balloon blooms are easy for a parent to make. You’ll need regular 5-, 11-, or 16-inch round balloons. Fill them with regular air or with helium (rent a tank for this). Before you attempt to make balloon art with helium-filled balloons, it’s a good idea to practice on ones filled with ordinary air, so any slip-ups won’t fly away. Don’t blow up the balloons fully; leaving a little slack will keep them flexible enough to turn and twist without popping. To tie off balloons, pinch the necks with one hand; with the other hand, pull the neck of the balloon to stretch it, wrap it around two of your fingers, and pull the end through to make a knot. If you can, make at least one flower for every guest, since the kids will surely want to take them home.
1. For the petals, you will need five balloons that are the same color and size. Inflate the balloons, comparing each to the first one so they match in size. If you are using helium, place the balloons in a plastic bag held under a table so they won’t float away.
2. Tie two of the balloons together: Stretch their knotted necks to make them easier to tie. There’s no need to knot them tightly, since they will naturally hold together as you manipulate them around. Set aside.
3. Next, tie the remaining three inflated balloons together: First tie two of them together as described in step 2, then tie on the third.
4. Join the two balloon clusters: Push the pair into the set of three so the necks wrap around each other.
5. Lock the two clusters together by rotating the necks of the balloons around each other several times until secure. Don’t worry about the balloons popping. They’re more durable than you might think. Set the petals aside.
6. For the center, inflate two balloons of a different color; use balloons that are the same size as the ones used to make the petals, but fill them with less air so they are slightly smaller. Tie the two balloons together.
7. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to insert the two balloons into the prepared cluster. Arrange the petals around the centers, twisting balloons several times to lock them all together.
8. Be sure the two balloons that make up the center are positioned correctly; the cluster should look like a flower whether viewed from the back or the front.
9. Wrap nylon string around the center of the cluster several times, changing direction to keep balloons well bound. To finish, pull one end of the string between two of the petals and cut off the other end. This will keep the flowers floating upright.
10. If using helium, tie the end of the string to a weight, such as a rock, or to a garden stake that you can plant in the grass. If using air, hang the balloon flowers from overhead.
Favor How-To
For favors, fill pails (available at party-supply stores) with candy and give each a paper daisy with a lollipop poked through its center.

Throwing a little girl party is fun. Girls love to have parties and hand out invitations to their friends. They also like to have goodies to give to their friends that attend the party, so you’ll want goody bags and these are generally done in the theme of the party. So now you have to decide with the help of your little lady what kind of party she will be having, whether it be for her birthday or just a fun girls day. Here are some ideas:
Little Girl Party Idea 1: Princess Party
Princess Parties are always a hit. Get some inexpensive little crowns and some pretend makeup for the girls that will be attending this party that is designed for four to ten year old’s. There are some things you will need for this party and each girl will get to dress up as a princess to go with the theme. The girls can do each others hair and wear little crowns. During the princess party you can have a parade with your princesses and have them dance.
Little Girl Party Idea 2: Tea Party
Tea Parties are a lot of fun and can be incorporated into birthday parties as well. You will need a tea set (you can actually have tea if you like). If your child is around four or so then a tea party with their teddy bears and dolls will be nice for them. (They can have friends over with their teddy bears too just make sure you have enough room for them to sit.) You will needs some gloves, hats and costume jewelry for the girls that are going to attend. The table can have flowers in the center or a teapot for this party.
Little Girl Party Idea 3: Pajama Party
Pajama Party Pajama parties are a great alternative for girls that are not old enough for sleepover yet. The girls all arrive in their pajamas and get to play various party games. These parties only last for a few hours so some small snacks and simple games are sufficient since these are normally limited to three or four children.
Little Girl Party Idea 4: Slumber Party
Slumber parties are typically better for girls over the age of eight. These will last all night so be prepared. A movie for them to watch depending on their age is good for keeping them calm for a few hours. Junk food is the normal path taken here. Although you might like to give the guest the option of fruit as well to keep them from ending up with tummy aches in the end because while they may not want to you are going to want them to go to sleep.
These are some of the most basic party ideas for little girls. When planning a party for your little girl it is important to plan far enough in advance that you know what you are in for before the big day. There are some things such as inviting the guest that has to be done in advance. You can either purchase or make invitations for you child to give to those she is inviting that are based on the theme. These can be as simple as card stock with a design for the party placed on them.
Decorations are needed for parties as well. The decorations will be dependent on the theme as to whether or not you have streamers, posters or whatever you choose to decorate with.
Little Girl Party Idea 5: Buggerific Party
My family and I just celebrated my daughters 3rd birthday! We arranged to have our party outdoors. One game we played towards the end of our party, which the children enjoyed playing a Scavenger Hunt for Bugs! We scattered large bugs all over our yard, lady bugs, crickets, centipedes, any kind of toy bug I can pick up from local stores, hiding them in the grass, by the trees, on bushes! The toy bugs also decorated our backyard for the entire party! Another game pass the bumble bee around when the music stops you’ve been stung! You can pick up at any local store an insect of your choice.
Decorate your area with butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs and bees go to Bugs-n-Blooms for beautifully made bugs! They are so beautiful you may want to keep them up in your child’s play area or bedroom!

You may not be able to check off everything on your child’s (or your own!) wish list, but there are a few key needs for each age-group that you should focus on. Safety is an important issue to considÂer when decorating your child’s room. Therefore you should examine furniture, toys, paints, and fabrics before using them to decorate. Even the placement of your child’s bed in relation to the doorway is a decision in which safety comes into play.
Babies:
Babies’ needs are crucial but simple: a safe nest to sleep in, a safe place to have diapers changed, and a comfortable spot for you to sit while feeding, cuddling, and rocking him or her. In fact, a comfy rocking or gliding chair is as important as a bed and changing table. Scientific research has shown that babies actually need a lot of cuddling in order to thrive, physically as well as mentally. If you are a new parent, you’ll probably be tired and stressed, so make it as easy as possible to spend cheek-to-cheek time with your baby. You’ll both be healthier!
A changing table will get a lot of use, so be sure to get a good one. You can make a changing table out of a waist-high chest of drawers, but be sure you add a top with a low guardrail as well as a waterproof pad. A chest may be more versatile later, but it generally is not as safe and, therefore, not recommended. In addition, diapers and clothes will be easier to reach if you opt for a changing table with open shelves below. Choose a unit with a safety strap to go across baby’s middle, or make sure you can get at things you need with one hand while keeping the other on your little wiggly worm at all times.
When it’s time to decorate walls, remember that, until they’re between six and nine months old, babies can’t see subtle colors and details. Black-and-white and other strongly contrasting colors work better as do simple patterns. A proven favorite is two dots and a curve within a circle that suggests human eyes and smiling mouth.
If you don’t care for vivid color schemes, choose a pastel you’d like to use longer term and pair it with a dark or bright accent hue you can change when your child gets a bit older. Another option is simply to stick with more restful pastel hues throughout the room and provide visual stimulation with age-appropriate toys.
Although newborn babies’ sight may be lacking, their hearing and sense of touch are almost fully developed at birth. Indulge them with safe toys in a variety of textures and soft melodic sounds. Crib toys and mobiles that move or play music will appeal to most babies as well as add attractive color and pattern to the room. Just make sure that any hanging toys your baby can reach are safe and that they do not have small detachable parts.
Toddlers:
Babies who are old enough to crawl, let alone toddle, are at their most challenging in terms of safety. At this stage they can perceive colors better than infants, but they still lack the ability to understand, say, a storybook scene on a wall.
Keep decorating ideas simple for awhile yet, and concentrate on making sure every square inch is clean and safe. For example, no hanging tablecloths, no exposed electrical outlets, no breakable or heavy items on tables and shelves, and no sharp corners on any furniture.
Tots making the transition from crawling to toddling will use any available vertical item to pull themselves up, so choose furniture pieces that are sturdy and stable.
For the inevitable tumbles, make sure floors are clean and resilient or softly covered with carpeting or rugs. If you don’t have wall-to-wall carpeting, use slip-proof pads under every rug. Vinyl resilient tiles and wood flooring are more forgiving than ceramic tile or stone, but nonslip rugs can make a real difference on any floor.
Depending on how active or how tall your child is, you may want to make the transition to a low youth bed now. If there’s even a chance your child can climb out of the crib, it’s time to move on.
